Eastern Shore Townhouses sits across the Neuse River from New Bern in an area called Bridgeton. Bridgeton grew up as a lumber-milling area after a bridge was built across the Neuse in 1898. Eastern Shore Townhouses is a 43-unit complex. All of the townhouses are 3-story with a garage and storage on the first floor—living, dining, and kitchen areas on the second and bedrooms on the third. None appear to be elevator-equipped. The MLS lists 2- and 3-bedroom models ranging from 1200 to 1645 square feet. This complex was built in 1989 and modifications are to be expected.
Most slips in the community marina have been listed as unassigned. There are 18 slips, and on the day inspected, only one slip was in use. The marina is very well built with wood piles and a ‘hog slat’ surface. They are fixed-height doubles with piles and partial fingers that appear to accommodate up to 40-footers.
