Aviron is a subdivision with 4 lots on Howe Creek which leads to the Intracoastal Waterway. The houses range from 3,000 to 6,000 square feet. The two lots closest to Middle Sound Loop Road are a little over half an acre. The two waterfront lots are approximately one acre. The four properties share a common dock on Howe Creek. There’s a wooden pier out to the docks. I couldn’t inspect the docks, so details are missing, but at least one slip had a power lift.
The area around the docks is tidal with sandbars and oyster beds. Unless dredging has been done recently, it might not be possible to get a boat with much draft into the docks.
The docks are about 3000 feet from the intracoastal waterway. Howe Creek is right behind the inlet between Figure Eight Island and Wrightsville Beach. That inlet is not maintained. It moves around quite a bit and shoaling is common. The more reliable Masonboro Inlet is 5 miles south.
Neighborhood participation appears to be strong.
