Bayshore Marina has one of the best marina facilities for the money on the North Carolina coast. Each slip is individually owned, and the area around the slip is owned, maintained, and can be modified by the property owner. Bayshore Marina is a fairly large subdivision with both houses and townhouses, most dating from the mid to late 80s. Each property comes with its own deeded slip. The docks are well equipped and maintained, and the community is clearly very involved. The downside, if there is one, is that Bayshore Marina is a fairly remote community. You can get groceries locally, and Sneads Ferry has a pretty good selection of restaurants. For other needs, you’ll need to drive to either Jacksonville, NC (about 30 minutes away) or Wilmington, NC (about 45 minutes away). And it might just be worth it.
Most of the slips are singles with gussets, about 30 feet.
The subdivision is tucked behind the north end of Topsail Beach. You’ll have very close access to the New River Inlet, but keep in mind it’s tricky to navigate because of shoaling and shifting sandbars. You’ll be about 13 miles from Surf City on Topsail Beach and 18 miles from Emerald Isle. About 11 miles north up the intracoastal waterway, you’ll find Headys Island and 4 miles of undeveloped barrier island to explore.
