Harker’s Village is a 36-parcel subdivision on the west side of Harker’s Island. Not so long ago, Harker’s Island was a remote, self-sustaining fishing village. Like most of North Carolina’s coast, Harker’s Island’s modest past is giving way to large vacation or retirement homes for those with the means. Harker’s Village boasts large and stately houses with great views and a very nice marina. The harbor is artificial and safely tucked away from the sea’s ravages. There appear to be 24 slips, most with power lifts, for the 36 lots in phase one of the development. No sailboats were in the marina. Most boats were on power lifts.
