Register Place is a 26-parcel subdivision in northeast Wilmington’s Ogden area. Its marina sits right on the intracoastal waterway. As a result, all slips have power lifts to prevent damage from constant buffeting by passing traffic on the waterway. There are 28 slips for the 26 lots. Each slip is 24 feet in length. As you can see from the photos, I couldn’t access the docks to inspect them myself. But I can attest to this much. The slips are doubles, you could say, with piles in between, but every slip has a power lift, so each lift has four piles, one on each corner of the boat as a structure for the lift. There are full fingers for every other slip. I only saw one dock box, so they’re clearly not provided but not prohibited. The pier and dock have a wood surface with an aluminum gangway from the pier. A covered pavilion sits on the pier.
The location is approximately a mile north of the inlet between Wrightsville Beach and Figure Eight Island. This inlet is not maintained. Shoaling is common, and channels tend to move regularly, making it tricky to navigate. You’ll be 5.6 miles north of Masonboro Inlet and the north end of Masonboro Island, a 7.5-mile-long undeveloped barrier island which can be accessed in several locations off the intracoastal waterway. If you’re out for a dinner cruise, you’ll be 3.7 miles north of the Wrightsville Beach Bridge, with several good restaurants where you can tie up and have dinner.
Neighborhood participation in the marina is very high.
