The Moorings Condominiums is a 14-unit complex on Motts Channel. These condos have a couple of key qualities that have seen their values rise dramatically. First, at least 10 of the units have slips that can accommodate a 55-footer; 2 units have 40-foot slips, and 1 has a 30-foot slip for the sport fisherman. That puts you minutes away from Masonboro Inlet and blue water. The back of each unit faces southwest, meaning sunsets over the water and Seapath Yacht Club. Those are two rare commodities in the area. In addition, 3 concrete pillars between every other slip secure larger vessels. Slips are double with piles. Every other slip has a floating platform for boarding with an aluminum gangway from the shore.
The docks are well equipped and very well maintained.
According to the tax records, the units are all 1666 square feet, 3-bedroom, 2 and 1/2 baths. However, these units were constructed in 1980, and interiors have been modified.
These docks are located right between the intracoastal waterway to the west and Banks Channel and Wrightsville Beach to the east. It’s about two miles from Masonboro Inlet and Masonboro Island to the south, a 7.5-mile-long undeveloped barrier island that can be accessed at several locations off the intracoastal waterway.
Community participation is strong.
