The Overlook is a small subdivision of 7 lots all on the Cranesbill Court cul de sac off Trails End Road. Their common docks on Whiskey Creek have 7 slips all with Power lifts. The docks have a short pier with a covered pavilion overlooking Whiskey Creek. The docks are a fixed height. Slips are stated to be 24 feet.
The Bluffs at Trails End is located behind Masonboro Island, a 7.5 mile long undeveloped barrier island which can be accessed in several locations off the intracoastal waterway.
The marina is about 2500 feet from the intracoastal waterway and 5.6 miles north of the Carolina Beach Inlet, which is not maintained and can be tricky to negotiate. Masonboro Inlet is 3 miles to the north which is one of the best inlets on the North Carolina coast. It is over a mile wide and has protective jetties out nearly 2000 feet from the mouth of the inlet.
Participation in the marina is good for a small neighborhood
