Up The Creek is a 9-lot subdivision with a community marina on Broad Creek, a tributary of Pamlico Sound on the north side. It’s northeast of Oriental, near Whortonville, North Carolina. Very few houses have been built in this neighborhood so far. Lots range from around 2 to 4 acres. Houses are around 2000 square feet. I met a very nice couple who gave me a tour of the docks, which had just been restored and were in great shape. A storm destroyed the previous docks.
They have 10 assigned slips, each 50 feet long, 20 feet wide, and at least 4 feet deep. They are double slips with piles and partial fingers. At the time of my visit, shore power had not been run to the docks, but I expect that will be addressed as more residents build in the neighborhood and use the docks.
