Buccaneer Bay West is a 128-parcel subdivision on the eastern banks of Kershaw Creek, about a mile west of the Oriental waterfront. Oriental is a small town that is known as the ‘Sailing Capital of North Carolina’. Buccaneer Bay West has a 31-slip community marina on Kershaw Creek. Many lots within Buccaneer Bay are waterfront and have their own private docks, so the 31 slips in the community docks are for landlocked lots. The slips appear to be 30 feet long.
The docks are basic but well constructed with a concrete-based deck surface known as ‘hog slats’
From this location, you’ll have the Neuse River and the Pamlico Sound to explore. Across the Neuse is Adams Creek, with a channel that takes you to Morehead City and Beaufort, less than 20 miles away. You’ll be 25 miles from New Bern’s historic waterfront. Small town? Yes, but a boater’s paradise.
