Captain’s Landing is a 10-unit complex that claims to be the only condo on the island with deep-water access. The front of the complex faces Causeway Drive, the main artery to the island. That road carries all the traffic entering or leaving the island. But all the condos abut one another in a single line, so the Causeway Drive side of the building serves little more than parking. The rear of the building is its own world, with double porches for each unit overlooking a wide lawn dotted with palm trees and a well-equipped, well-maintained marina. Most, but not all, of the slips have power lifts.
This property is on an artificial canal. Over time, these canals can silt in and require dredging. It would be important to determine if there is a homeowners association, not just for the building, but for all the properties on the canal, which can equitably raise the funds for dredging as needed.
