Gores Landing Townhomes is an 8-unit condominium complex on the intracoastal waterway across from Ocean Isle Beach. Each unit is three stories with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. Each unit has a two-car garage on the ground floor with a large flex space on the intracoastal side. The 27 x 15 master is on the second floor facing the intracoastal. An additional bedroom with an attached bath is on that floor. The third floor features a great room overlooking the waterway with an open kitchen and dining arrangement. The third bedroom is located on the north side of this floor. A private elevator serves all three floors.
A 295-foot elevated pier accesses the docks. At the docks, you’ll find a central floating platform accessed by an aluminum gangway. The platform can be used for swimming or as a small boat launch. Each slip has a power lift, a necessity here because the docks are subject to buffeting from passing boats on the intracoastal waterway.
The docks are wood-framed with wood decking and built at a fixed height. Water and electricity supply the power lifts, but there are no utility pedestals. The docks appeared to be in good condition.
Two miles to the east is Shallotte Inlet, providing access to blue water. However, the inlet is not maintained and is subject to shoaling. There is a maintained inlet south of Ocean Isle, but you’ll have to cover about 12 miles to take advantage of it. A couple of undeveloped beach areas around the inlet are Waties Island on the South Carolina side and Bird Island on the North Carolina side. If you go another 5 or 6 miles south, you’ll reach the North Myrtle Beach area, with its many bars and attractions. Southport is about 25 miles to the east. You’ll pass Holden Beach, Oak Island, and Fort Caswell along the way.
