Mitchell Harbour is a fairly small, 25-lot community on the shore of Mitchell Creek, which is about 2 miles south of the Neuse River. It is a remote area. It is about 10 miles from Havelock and Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station (and a PX if you are a veteran), but it’s probably more like a 15-minute drive. I met a few Mitchell Harbour residents while I was photographing the docks, and it’s clearly a strong boating community. As is typical, waterfront lots have their own docks. Several owners of landlocked lots own additional waterfront docks in partnerships and have private docks there. All landlocked lots have access to a common dock. There appear to be 10 slips on the common dock. The slips are doubles, with piles at 30 feet. They are being maintained and do not need repair.
